Next Phase Appoints Health IT Innovation Officer

 

Next Phase Solutions and Services, Inc. (Next Phase), an SBA Certified 8(a), and Economically Disadvantaged, Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) focused on engineering, science and IT services, announces the appointment of Elizabeth Cruz McNamara to the role of Health IT Innovation Officer. Liz joins us from the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health, where she spearheaded transformative initiatives, most notably serving as Director of the Digital Transformation (DT) initiative since 2019. With a stellar track record at the FDA/CDRH, Liz held multiple high-impact roles, including Associate Deputy Chief Information Officer (ADCIO) and Acting Director of the Division of Technology and Data Services.With over 30 years of hands-on experience, Liz has been at the forefront of driving complex health IT solutions across both the public and private sectors. Before her impactful tenure at the FDA, she served in key leadership positions—Director at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, IT Program Manager at NIH’s Clinical Center for Patient Safety, and Principal Healthcare Consultant at CSC and Health IT Solutions, LLC.

Liz has achieved an impressive academic background with an M.S. in Healthcare Administration and a B.S. in Decision and Information Systems from the University of Maryland. Next Phase Appoints Raghu Bemgal to Chief Technology Officer and Consulting Manager, IT Practice

Mr. Bemgal will lead the technology initiatives, spearhead innovation efforts, and drive transformative solutions for our federal and commercial clients. His deep understanding of emerging technologies, and ability to translate them into practical applications, will undoubtedly serve Next Phase well. With Mr. Bemgal’s appointment, Next Phase reaffirms its commitment to innovation, excellence, and customer success. Mr. Bemgal brings his diverse industry experience of 20+ years, demonstrated exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to driving innovation to his new role. His contributions and strategic vision have played a pivotal role in our company’s growth and success. Most recently, Mr. Bemgal has led multiple digital modernization efforts such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) and FDA’s modernization effort for advanced data management within the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). As CTO, Raghu will lead our technology initiatives, spearhead innovation efforts, and drive transformative solutions for our clients. His deep understanding of emerging technologies, and ability to translate them into practical applications, will undoubtedly propel us to new heights. 

Prior to his time at Next Phase, Mr. Bemgal successfully led the development of complex Federal IT systems for both small and large IT service providers. Mr. Bemgal holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering.

Next Phase Awarded $500M CMS Data Analytics Supporting Healthcare (DASH) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA)

Columbia, MD February 7, 2022 – Next Phase was awarded a $500M, 5-year DASH BPA contract by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to support CMS healthcare quality initiatives for the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ). CCSQ will procure services over 5 years to support their vision and mission for the development and implementation of a cohesive, CMS-wide approach to measuring and promoting healthcare quality across CMS’ strategic programs designed to ensure cost effective, high quality, accessible healthcare for the nation. Under this BPA, Next Phase will deliver digital services to support data analytics using agile delivery services including: Data analytics and reporting, Human-Centered Design (HCD), IT management and governance, business process analysis, solution architecture and design, agile application development and configuration, systems integration, and DevOps.

We are very excited to continue our support of critical healthcare services for CMS.
